The Health Promotion Services department consults with students, faculty, staff on health projects and research. If you wish to conduct your own research for a health project here are some sources we recommend.

The organization gathers survey data from college students on many areas of health including sleep habits, recreational drug use, mental health and nutrition habits. They also provide publication materials and brochures for educational use.

The American Sexual Health Association is touted as a trusted and reliable source of information on sexual health and sexually transmitted infections. They also offer specific information about the signs, symptoms and ways to prevent or reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections.


CDC - Center for Disease Control and Prevention

The CDC is the leading authority on health and disease information. Through their organization they promote health and wellness, conduct research and develop policy based on sound evidence. Their goals are to monitor health, detect and investigate health problems, conduct research to enhance prevention, develop and advocate sound public health policies, implement prevention strategies, promote healthy behaviors, foster safe and healthful environments, & provide leadership and training.


NIAAA - National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism
